WSS: Ellison tips title challenge with PTR

The Briton is one of four British riders targeting the World Supersport Championship title in 2011.
James Ellison believes he is well positioned to revive his international motorcycling career as he embarks on a return to the World Supersport Championship in 2011.

Though his deal with Performance Technical Racing had been confirmed some months ago, it has since been revealed that he will ride under the PTR Bogdanka banner as part of a tie-in with another Polish operation.

With PTR finishing second in the WSS standings for the last two seasons, Ellison is excited at the opportunity to join a front-running team and is confident he will be challenging for the title this season.

"I made the choice to ride for this team and in this Championship because I know I have the ability to win the World Championship. I could have taken different rides but I believe in this project and my only aim is to win the title - that gives me a strong
platform to advance my World Championship career."

Ellison joins the series having raced at British Superbike level for the last three seasons, finishing second in 2009 behind Aprilia World Superbike rider Leon Camier. He is a former European Superstock champion and competed in MotoGP in 2005 and 2006.

I like James and wish him the best, but I expect to see him more on the edge of the top 6 rather than right up front. The grid is very strong this year and I just can't see him matching the likes of Foret, Parkes, Davies and Rea. I hope I am wrong though. Good luck James.

i believe he road those same tracks in 4 yrs of Euro superstock (winning two of them) 1 yr of world endurance (won that too) and wss in 2002 ...... best finish of 4th in WSBK wildcard at dony, regularly beating crutchlow, camier, byrne, sykes on private honda in BSB.... I think he'll be just fine. 100% behind you and all the brits fella!
