Fabien Foret will assume the mantle of initial title favourite heading into the opening round of the 2011 World Supersport Championship after clinging on to the fastest time during testing at Phillip Island.

The Frenchman's S3 effort was enough to keep him at the head of the timesheets by the end of play, though his margin over second place man Broc Parkes was down to less than a tenth.

The local favourite set the pace in session four to join Foret in breaching the 1min 34secs marker and getting close to Kawasaki predecessor Joan Lascorz's fastest lap time, but would fall just short of taking the best lap overall.
