Lowes eyeing first win on home soil

Fresh from his marvellous performance at Phillip Island, Sam Lowes is bidding to claim a victory on home soil at Donington Park.
Sam Lowes has set his sights on a home victory in the second round of the World Supersport Championship at Donington Park in an effort to get over his agonising last gasp defeat at Phillip Island.

The Briton, making his full-time debut for Parkalgar Honda in Australia, was a revelation at Phillip Island as he diced with his more experienced rivals, even if he was eventually left a somewhat unrepresentative third at the chequered flag.

Nonetheless, Donington Park represents one of the few circuits on the WSS calendar that Lowes has raced on before which, coupled to his Phillip Island performance, means he is eyeing that maiden race win.

“Coming off the Phillip Island result, this weekend is my home race and I'm looking forward to the weekend. We want to be building on what we found out at Australia and going for the win.

“Donington is a circuit I've done quite a lot of riding at and I've always gone well. Hopefully a lot of people will be there supporting me and the team. I live just an hour away from Donington Park so it is very much my home track.”

For me his ride at Philip Island was as good as a win (he was riding against bikes that could always smoke him to the line). This guy has really impressed me, strong, enthusiatic and fast - he's gonna win!
