Sam Lowes heads to the third round of the 2011 World Supersport Championship at Assen eager to get back on terms with his title rivals following his retirement at Donington Park.

The Parkalgar Honda rider was fighting his way back into contention at Donington Park when he suffered a mechanical fault, an issue that leaves him a substantial 34 points behind series leader Luca Scassa after just two races.

Nonetheless, Lowes is looking forward to racing at Assen again and is confident he will be amongst the front runners once more.

"I literally can't wait; I've been to Assen in 2008 and I really liked it. The fast flowing corners really suit my riding style. I can't wait to get there and we've been fast everywhere we have been so my speed is good. Only one corner has changed since I was there and it is not as tight so that is better for me."

For team manager Simon Buckmaster, he is convinced Parkalgar Honda and Lowes are 'overdue' a victory following a frustrating first two races.

We have got one of the fastest riders in the Championship with Sam Lowes and we are looking for an overdue victory in 2011. It is a case of when we win, not if we win."
