New World Supersport Championship leader Broc Parkes has taken provisional pole position for the sixth round of the series at Motorland Aragon as Kawasaki continued to dominate proceedings.

Both Parkes and David Salom were out front from the start of the session, managing a fairly substantial margin over the chasing pack that stood at more than one second until the closing stages.

However, while Parkes would be one of a handful of riders to fall during the session, he was still three tenths faster than team-mate Salom, who in turn carried a three tenth margin over Sam Lowes around the lengthy Alcaniz circuit.

Behind Lowes, Chaz Davies completes the provisional front row, just nudging off team-mate Luca Scassa, who was another to lose time with a fall early on in the session.

Gino Rea was an encouraging sixth quickest as he avoided more of the technical issues that have dogged his season thus far, ahead of Fabien Foret, Massimo Roccoli, Roberto Tamburini and Florian Marino. James Ellison was 11th quickest.
