Gino Rea has taken provisional pole position on home soil at Silverstone as he led a British 1-2 for the latest round of the World Supersport Championship.
The Step Racing Honda rider claimed his maiden WSS victory last time out at Brno, form he appears capable of replicating in front of his fans at Silverstone this weekend after cruising to the top spot by two tenths of a second.
Fabien Foret had looked on course for the top spot with five minutes to go, but he would be overhauled by both Rea, Sam Lowes and Luca Scassa before the chequered flag, forcing him onto the outside of the provisional front row.
Robbin Harms showed good pace on the way to fifth position aboard his eponymous Honda, ahead of Roberto Tamburini and James Ellison, while practice pace setter David Salo was down in eighth after suffering a mechanical problem.
Florian Marino and championship leader Chaz Davies rounded out the top ten, the latter seemingly struggling for pace at his home circuit. Fortunately for him, his closest title challenger, Broc Parkes, was even further back in 15th.
