Kawasaki has committed to the 2012 World Supersport Championship with the announcement that its official entry will be managed and prepared by Lorenzini by Leoni.

The Italian team switched to Kawasaki machinery in 2010, after several seasons as a Yamaha customer, and has established itself as a worthy satellite operative for the firm, alongside the manufacturer's official Provec Motocard.com entry.

However, with Provec heavily rumoured to be involved with Kawasaki's factory World Superbike effort for 2012, Lorenzini by Leoni have thus been promoted to front its Supersport operation.

Lorenzini by Leoni ran a single ZX-6R for Fabien Foret in 2010, before doubling its efforts for 2011 with Massimo Roccoli and Vittorio Iannuzzo, while Sheridan Morais and Lorenzo Savadori represent the team in the Superstock 1000 series.

Even so, the Italian team has a tough job to maintain the high standards set by Provec Motocard.com, which took over from Gil Motorsport in 2009 and re-established Kawasaki as race winners at Supersport level. Currently, its riders David Salom and Broc Parkes are placed second and fourth in the 2011 standings.
