Lowes to the fore in FP2

1 October 2011

Sam Lowes moved to the head of the World Supersport Championship timesheets during second free practice at Magny-Cours.

The Parkalgar Honda rider lapped the French circuit in 1min 42.038secs, just four hundredths faster than Kawasaki's David Salom, who held down the second best lap despite suffering a fall in the closing stages of the session.

Salom's team-mate Broc Parkes was third fastest, ahead of the two ParkinGO Yamahas, Luca Scassa leading champion-elect Chaz Davies, while Massimo Roccoli, who caused a stir by claiming provisional pole position yesterday, was sixth best.

Local favourites Fabien Foret and Florian Marino held down seventh and eighth, with James Ellison and Ondrej Jezek completing the top ten.
