Sam Lowes shrugged off a crash early on to claim the quickest World Supersport time of the weekend thus far around the Portuguese circuit in second free practice.

The Briton, who is still eyeing his first win at WSS level, is competing around Parkalgar Honda's local venue this weekend, a home advantage he hinted at with an impressive 1min 45.331secs lap time.

It was enough to place him three tenths faster than second place man, and provisional pole sitter, David Salom, the Spaniard also striving to end his year on the Kawasaki with a maiden victory in World Supersport.
