Romain Lanusse could be joined in the Intermoto Step Racing Kawasaki team in World Supersport team by French star Fabien Foret.

Foret, the 2002 World Supersport champion, is being reported by Bikeracing.it as Lanusse's team-mate for 2012.

Last season, Foret finished third overall in the points standings on the Ten Kate Honda behind Chaz Davis and David Salom.

Lanusse finished fourth in the European Superstock 600 Championship 2011, a successful campaign that included a race victory at Monza and runner-up finishes at Assen and Aragon.

Reflecting on last season, Lanusse told Sport-bikes.fr: "My best memory is Monza, of course. What I have learned is that we must never relax or listen to others. We must rely on ourselves and never stop working.

"I lost confidence when I fell several times and was a little too loose in mid-season. For the three races where it went wrong, I can only blame myself. I have chosen to never give up."

And looking ahead to the opening round of the World Supersport Championship next month, Lanusse said he was aiming for a solid start at Phillip Island, a circuit he has never competed at in the past.

"For Australia, I'm not going to make a prognosis for I have no idea really - I do not know the circuit and I have never raced there," he said.

"I want to be finishing regularly in the top ten and my ambition is to make the podium later in the season if I am able; it would be great for a first year."
