SSTK: Barrier forced out at Monza?

Sylvain Barrier injures his shoulder during Q1, putting the Superstock 1000 Championship leader's participation at Monza in doubt.
FIM Superstock 1000 Championship leader Sylvain Barrier's participation in the remainder of the third round at Monza is in doubt after injuring his shoulder in an accident during Q1.

The Frenchman came into the event with a comfortable advantage at the top of the standings after triumphing at Imola and Assen, while he was in the process of establishing himself as the favourite at Monza after topping FP1 and then setting the pace during Q1.

However, having set a lap time good enough to claim provisional pole position, Barrier would suffer a fall at Lesmo 2 that would leave him nursing a dislocated shoulder.

As such, his BMW Italia team has admitted he may be forced to skip the remainder of the weekend, though having sat out the damp FP2 session this morning, it isn't yet known whether he will attempt to make it later today.
