Kenan Sofuoglu became the only rider to win more than a single race in the 2012 World Supersport Championship as he gained the upper hand over Honda's Jules Cluzel at Misano.
DeltaFin Kawasaki's Sofuoglu took the victory by 1.28 seconds to increase his lead in the championship to 22 points.
“I am very happy to have won here because I have not taken a win at Misano before,” he said.
“I have raced here for many years but this time it happened. The win and the points for the championship are good but, really, I am so happy for Kawasaki.
“They are really giving me what I want and what I need and it has brought me the leading position in the championship and given me the chance to win races.”
Fabien Foret (Kawasaki Intermoto Step Racing) had a torrid day as he dropped to eighth position after challenging for a podium result.
Foret incurred a ride-through penalty after missing the escape lane when he was pushed wide at Turn One and his chance was gone.
Alex Badolini sealed the final rostrum place in third on his Power Team Suriano Triumph, with Foret eventually taking eighth.
Sheridan Morais, riding the second DeltaFin ZX6R, crossed the line in sixth place.
“I had a really good start but we were bumping fairings in the first lap. In the beginning and middle of the race it was all good, up until five laps to go,” he said.
“My tyre worked well and I think the soft tyre was the right option but, because of the way things were at the start, and being hit a few times, I lost a lot of places.
“I think I just used up the tyre trying to get through traffic,” he added.
“I had a good race but I am disappointed because I am think without having to ride so hard to get back near the front and using up the tyre we could have scored a podium.”
