Sofuoglu identifies Cluzel as only title rival

Kenan Sofuoglu's third win of the season at the Moscow Raceway means he can mathematically seal the title next time out at the Nurburgring.
Kenan Sofuoglu says he will focus his attentions on Jules Cluzel in the final three rounds of the World Supersport Championship after victory at the Moscow Raceway put him within striking distance of a third title.

The Turk was in imperious form around the Russian circuit as he headed off the challenge from Cluzel, a result that sees his lead in the standings swell from 14 to 33 points after erstwhile nearest rival Sam Lowes lost time with a ride-through penalty.

Indeed, though Cluzel and Lowes are split by just two points in the standings, Sofuoglu considers the Frenchman to be his most realistic rival now with just the Nurburgring, Portimao and Magny-Cours to come.

“I feel pretty good right now because in the past few races I have had a pretty big problem with my knee but in the end today I won the race.

“We had a nice race here and it was good to win at this track. I am really enjoying it and I hope to race here more often because the track is really nice for a motorcycle and I have loved it since the first lap. We did a nice race and I am very happy with my team and my bike, with everything.

“I knew Cluzel would be behind me because his pace is always good in the race, but I knew my bike was good and I think we had a little advantage. In the championship it looks like Cluzel may be the only one to fight with me because he is the only one constant at the moment. But it is nice to have strong competition.”

Sofuoglu can mathematically wrap up the WSS title next time out in Germany if he scores more than 17 points than Cluzel and Lowes.

thats right, he is cheating, Kenan should be banned for being so damn good. & anyone who has a problem with his greatness should not have to endure how he can pass two people in one corner or cut through the mid pack like they are standing still. Forza Kenan !

I think Kenan will get another shot at SBK. Yes his season in 2008 wasn't great, but from his performance this season he's earned another crack at it. I remember reading an interview when Kenan signed with Kawasaki in Supersport, that he intended to be in SBK in 2013.
