PTR Honda's Jules Cluzel reckons he still has more to come after qualifying on pole for tomorrow's World Supersport race at the Nurburgring in his first visit to the German track.
It was Cluzel's fifth pole position of the season and the ominous news for his rivals is that he is likely to improve further tomorrow as he continues to learn his way around the legendary circuit.
“Yeah I am happy as this is my first time at the track and I learnt it quickly,” Cluzel said.
“I think I still need to improve a little bit because I know tomorrow Kenan [Sofuoglu] will be really pushing like in Russia.
“We still have some improvements to try in the morning and we will try to do our best,” he added.
“My target is to finish on the podium, but if possible to win.”
Cluzel snatched pole by the narrowest of deficits from Sam Lowes with Broc Parkes third, giving Honda the top three places.
Only 0.025s covered the leading trio, setting the scene for a typically ferocious battle in the middleweight division tomorrow.
