Luca Scassa will return to the World Supersport Championship in 2013 after penning a deal to join race-winning outfit Intermoto Kawasaki.
The former World Superbike rider won three races on the way to fifth overall during the 2011 championship aboard a ParkinGO Yamaha, but a switch to the British Superbike Championship with Padgetts Honda in 2012 yielded little success in comparison.
As such, Scassa will be back on Supersport machinery in 2013 as part of the Intermoto Kawasaki line-up, where he will join Spanish racer David Salom, whom he also raced alongside at Pedercini Kawasaki during the 2009 World Superbike Championship.
Following a switch to the Kawasaki ZX-6R over the winter, Czech outfit Intermoto went on to finish fourth overall with Fabien Foret at the helm in 2012, scoring wins at Imola and Brno. The team will also receive backing from Kawasaki Europe in 2013.
Scassa, meanwhile, was originally earmarked to return to ParkinGO as part of its much vaunted factory MV Agusta project, but a public fall-out with team manager Giuliano Rovelli led to the deal falling through.
