Sylvain Barrier continued to dominate his way through the opening round of the 2013 FIM Superstock 1000 Cup at Motorland Aragon by topping second free practice.
The BMW GoldBet rider has been in imperious form since the curtain raiser got underway as the only rider to crack 2mins 02secs so far, Barrier's time of 2mins 01.882scs maintaining a sizeable half second advantage over second place man Eddi La Marra in FP2.
An improvement for La Marra on the Barni Ducati 1199 Panigale, he in turn found himself four tenths up on Pedercini Kawasaki duo Leandro Mercado and Lorenzo Savadori, with Niccolo Canepa rounding out the top five on his twin-cylinder machine.
Behind them, Jeremy Guarnoni was sixth fastest ahead of top rookie Greg Gildenhuys on the second of the factory BMWs, while Marco Bussolotti on the new Trasimeno BMW, Christoffer Bergman and Alessandro Andreozzi completed the top ten.
