WSS Assen: Kennedy makes mark at Assen

Though it wasn't the top five finish he looked on course for, Jack Kennedy makes his mark at Assen on the way to another seventh place result.
Jack Kennedy continued to leave his mark on the World Supersport Championship with a fine performance at Assen, even if grip problems would prevent him from finishing higher than seventh come race day.

Catching attention with his run to fourth position on the grid, Kennedy went on to show his racing mettle too as he hauled his way up to third position, ahead of Fabien Foret.

Though he'd eventually cede that place to Foret, Kennedy would continue to circulate in a fairly lonely fourth position, only for grip problems to drop him into the clutches of a busy chasing pack as the chequered flag loomed.

Shuffled down to seventh in the closing laps, though it meant he wasn't quite able to better his best finish last time out at Motorland Aragon, Kennedy was pleased with his front-running form on the RivaMoto Honda.

“I had a great first half of the race but I lost touch with Foret when the grip went away. I tried to put consistent laps in but could see the gap decreasing to the bunch behind me. I dug in but couldn't do anything about it. We have grabbed more points and more info for this learning curve that we are on.

“I am happy with my pace and just need to find the whatever it takes to maintain it. A really great job by the team this weekend and I'm looking forward to Monza.”
