Kenan Sofuoglu will take the advantage into qualifying for the ninth round of the 2013 World Supersport Championship after claiming provisional pole position at Silverstone.

Despite having to contend with rain flurries in FP1 and a lengthy stoppage in Q1 to clear an oil spill, Sofuoglu's name barely strayed from the top of the timesheets throughout the day, the Turk stealing the thunder from home favourite and key rival Sam Lowes.
