Sam Lowes will take the fastest lap of the World Supersport weekend at Silverstone into final qualifying after pacing FP2 around his home circuit.

Having played second best to Kenan Sofuoglu throughout Friday, Lowes asserted his authority over the Turk during FP2, coming away a comfortable two tenths faster than his key title rival with a lap of 2mins 08.652secs.

Florian Marino was once again on good form to set the third fastest time for Intermoto Kawasaki, ahead of Honda pairing Jack Kennedy and Michael van der Mark, while Kev Coghlan lifted himself up to sixth place in the closing stages.

Third fastest in provisional qualifying, Riccardo Russo was seventh aboard the Puccetti Kawasaki, ahead of leading MV Agusta rider Roberto Rolfo, Ronan Quarmby – despite a technical problem – and Fabien Foret.
