PJ Jacobsen tests WSS Kawasaki at Jerez

PJ Jacobsen tests a Kawasaki at Jerez with a view to joining the World Supersport Championship in 2014.
British Superbike standout PJ Jacobsen could be on the verge of switching to the World Supersport Championship next season after joining Kawasaki during testing at Jerez.

The American youngster enjoyed a successful maiden season on Superbike machinery with Tyco Suzuki, ending the 2013 season as the highest-placed rookie rider in ninth overall, with a best finish of second place coming at Assen.

However, the 20-year-old is already seemingly seeking pastures new for 2014 and following the final round of the BSB season at Brands Hatch immediately flew out to Jerez to ride the Intermoto Step Kawasaki with a view to joining the series full-time.

Should Jacobsen secure a ride in the World Supersport Championship, it'll come two years after he was supposed to race in the series with PTR Honda, only for the deal to fall through on the eve of the 2012 season.

with PJ not being the biggest lad in the world and riding very well this year, I would think the WSS champs would be a perfect base to start his road to Moto 2 and then Moto GP as both championships need a Yank somewhere on the grind to push the sports in that part of the globe..
