Puccetti Racing will embark on its first full season of World Supersport Championship racing in 2014 after securing a title sponsorship deal with San Carlo and signing rider Roberto Tamburini.
After several season of success in its native Italy, Puccetti made the full step to World Supersport racing last year with promising youngster Riccardo Russo, but budget constraints would force the outfit to skip a handful of flyaway rounds.
However, the introduction of San Carlo – which provided title sponsorship for the Gresini MotoGP team until recently and backs the Italian junior riding programme – means Puccetti Kawasaki will be present for each of the 13 events in 2014, beginning in Australia next month.
Heading up the team's charge with be Tamburini, the experienced rider swapping directly with Russo by joining from the Lorini Honda outfit.
The Italian, who began 2013 with Suriano Suzuki, finished the season in 16th overall with a best finish of sixth position, while he has been a top five contender in previous years.
