Kenan Sofuoglu maintained his status as the dominant force in the World Supersport Championship as he topped the timesheets yet again in morning warm-up.
Once more the only rider to break 1min 33secs, Sofuoglu was a comfortable two tenths quicker than Michael van der Mark, the young Dutchman again asserting himself as the Turk's most likely challenger when racing gets underway later today.
After a week hampered by technical woes and a crash in qualifying, Jules Cluzel has reason to smile heading into the opening race as he turned in the third fastest time on the MV Agusta F3, ahead of Kev Coghlan and team-mate Vladimir Leonov.
Raffaele de Rosa led the PTR Honda charge in sixth place, though most eyes were on stablemate Jack Kennedy, who made a surprise return to action on the CIA Insurance-backed CBR600RR in 15th place.
The Irishman, who fractured his ankle in a crash during pre-season testing, has been been given the green light
to race, despite having not taken part in any practice or qualifying sessions.
