A close top three in all, Marino, van der Mark and Jules Cluzel would all be split by less than a tenth, with fourth place Kenan Sofuoglu almost half a second further back in fourth position.
WSS championship leader Kev Coghlan rounded out the top five on the DMC Panavto Yamaha, ahead of PJ Jacobsen and Roberto Tamburini, with Honda trio Ratthapark Wilairot, Jack Kennedy and Marco Bussolotti rounding out the top ten.
