SSTK: Savadori beats Ducatis to Assen pole

Lorenzo Savadori secures his first Superstock 1000 pole position for Pedercini Kawasaki at Assen, ahead of Mercado and Jezek.

Lorenzo Savadori has taken the first FIM Superstock 1000 pole position of his career after edging out the Barni Ducatis at Assen.

With Ducati's Leandro Mercado and Ondrej Jezek having dominated proceedings so far this weekend, Savadori waited until mattered to nleash his pace, the Pedercini Kawasaki rider turning in a lap two tenths quicker than his main rivals.

Mercado and Jezek will make up the remainder of the front row, while Fabio Massei made it three Ducatis inside the top four in fourth position.

Local rider Kevin Valk was an impressive fifth place aboard the MTM Kawasaki, ahead of Romain Lanusse and another Dutch rider, wild-card Nigel Walraven on the Hoegee Suzuki.

Rounding out the top ten Matthieu Lussiana, Kyle Smith and Robert Muresan complete the leading positions.
