Ondrej Jezek has set the pace for the first free practice session for the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup class at Misano as the riders resume battle after more than a month.

The first outing for the Superstock Cup since Imola more than a month ago, it was Barni Ducati riders Jezek and Leandro Mercado that led away early on, the duo holding firm at the top of the timesheets to the chequered flag.

Lorenzo Savadori proved the closest competition on the Pedercini Kawasaki, three tenths adrift, with local rider Federico D'Annunzio six tenths back in fourth on his privately funded BMW.

Fabio Massei completed the top five from David McFadden, Aprilia wild-card Kevin Calia, series returnee Federico Sandi and Romain Lannusse, the Frenchman back on a Superstock bike after two rounds in the World Superbike Championship deputising for the injured Luca Scassa at Pedercini.
