SSTK Misano: Savadori beats Ducatis for Misano pole

Lorenzo Savadori holds off Leandro Mercado, Fabio Massei and Ondrej Jezek to record pole position for his home Superstock round at Misano.

Lorenzo Savadori will start the fourth round of the 2014 FIM Superstock 1000 Cup from pole position after getting the better of the Ducati contingent at Misano.

Riding the Pedercini Kawasaki, Savadori was the only rider to break 1min 39secs as he put a tenth between himself and championship leader Leandro Mercado on the Barni Ducati.

Counterparts Fabio Massei on the EAB Ducati and Ondrej Jezek on the Barni Ducati will start third and fourth, with Federico Sandi and Federico D'Annunzio leading the BMW charge on the remainder of the second row.

His best starting position of the season, David McFadden gets underway in seventh, ahead of Matthieu Lussiana, Romain Lanusse and British rider Kyle Smith, while Assen race winner Kevin Valk starts 13th.
