SSTK: No change at Jezek leads day one

Ondrej Jezek holds firm at the top of the timesheets after FP2 at Portimao, ahead of Barni Ducati team-mate Leandro Mercado.

Ondrej Jezek maintained his advantage at the top of the Superstock 1000 timesheets following the first day of competition around the Portimao circuit in Portugal.

As was the case in the earlier World Supersport session, improvements through the field were minimal as warmer temperatures prevented riders from making gains on their earlier FP1 efforts.

It means Barni Ducati take a large advantage into day two, with Jezek two tenths up on team-mate Leandro Mercado, who in turn commands almost seven tenths over third place rider Kyle Smith on the Racedays Honda.

Beyond an unchanged top ten, Riccardo Russo – who was riding the Pedercini Kawasaki this morning -, has been removed from the timesheets as he has been promoted back to a Superbike ride with the team as Luca Scassa has withdrawn for further recuperation from injury.
