Lorenzo Savadori secured his third Superstock 1000 pole position of 2015 after he comfortably broke the outright lap record for the class on Saturday afternoon at Misano.

The championship leader by 25 points coming into his home round, Savadori lapped the Adriatic circuit 0.39s faster than the Ducati Panigales of Ondrej Jezek and Raffaele De Rosa.

The session was stopped with six minutes remaining after Fabio Massei and Luca Savadori crashed in separate incidents at the same corner.

In a good day for the Nuova M2 Aprilia squad, Savadori's team-mate Kev Calia placed fourth, ahead of Kev Coghlan and Jeremy Guarnoni.

Despite his off, Massei heads the third row of the grid thanks to the seventh fastest time of the afternoon while Federico D'Annunzio secured his best qualifying berth of the season in eighth.

Savadori's closest championship competitor Roberto Tamburini will start Sunday's race from ninth on the grid as Matthieu Lussiana, yet to score a point in 2015, rounded out the top ten.
