Kenan Sofuoglu will begin the final round of his World Supersport Championship winning season from pole position after producing a dominant qualifying performance at Losail.

The Turk, who wrapped up a record fourth world title last time out in France, came into the qualifying session seemingly locked in a tussle with Lucas Mahias based on free practice times, but it was Sofuoglu that would emerge well out front when it mattered.

Quickest almost throughout the session, the Puccetti Kawasaki rider already had a two tenth margin over MG Yamaha rider Mahias as the final minutes loomed, only to pump in a lap of 2m 00.989secs, leaving him a full eight tenths clear.
