Jules Cluzel has held on to top spot on Friday practice at the Lausitzring after FP2 was run in mixed conditions which saw just four riders improve on their outright fastest lap times.

After a heavy rain shower forced a 90-minute delay halfway during the World Superbike FP2 session, the afternoon practice session for the World Supersport grid in Germany saw a drying track tempt riders into hunting outright lap times while providing a stern test in damp circuit conditions.

While the majority of riders clocking laps in the tricky conditions, it was only when lap times consistently arrived within five seconds of the outright fastest times from FP1 did riders hunt for a personal best time.

Niki Tuuli, an experienced rider at the Lausitzring, saw his efforts pay dividends as he jumped up to seventh on the combined times on his Kallio Racing Yamaha to secure an automatic spot in Superpole two.

Gino Rea on the Team Go Eleven Kawasaki also improved to go eighth and locked down his spot in the Superpole two shootout.

Times at the top remained unchanged with Cluzel keeping clear of Sheridan Morais and Lucas Mahias with defending World Supersport champion Kenan Sofuoglu in fourth. Federico Caricasulo duly claimed fifth ahead of Luke Stapleford with Tuuli and Rea following as Hikari Okubo and Kyle Smith rounding out the top ten.
