As ever, the World Superbike Championship won't be the only attraction at Silverstone this weekend, with the Supersport riders always on hand to put on a show.
Indeed, hopes of a home win are high in this category, particularly after Gino Rea's unexpected maiden victory at Brno, the youngster raising some eyebrows by producing Honda's first win of the season aboard the unheralded Step Racing CBR600RR.
Riding a confidence high, Rea was also a podium winner at Silverstone last year, placing him amongst the favourites to make it two victories in a row.
However, he will have championship leader Chaz Davies to contend with, the Welshman's combination of speed and consistency giving him a comfortable 36 point buffer heading to his home event. Whatever happens at Silverstone, Davies will still leave the round with points in hand.
Though he has yet to top the podium this season, Sam Lowes has firmly established himself as a consistent Supersport front runner and will be fancying his chances at Silverstone this weekend. Indeed, Lowes was a top ten finisher in his wild-card outing at Silverstone last year aboard the GNS Honda, while his current Parkalgar team were also winners there twelve months ago.
While his decision to switch from Superbike to Supersport racing hasn't quite dividends as yet, James Ellison remains an outside bet on home soil, particularly as he was a BSB winner at Silverstone last year.
Finally, the wild-card ranks will be swelled by Luke Stapleford, who will make his WSS debut riding a Profile Road and Racing Kawasaki ZX-6R.
Arguably the finest British line-up heading to a home race in many years, who do you think will be the top representative come race day…?
