Series leader Sylvain Barrier moved to the top of the timesheets during the second Superstock 1000 Cup free practice session of the weekend at Imola.
The Frenchman has played second fiddle to Barni Ducati rider Niccolo Canepa so far in Italy, but a lap of 1min 50.923secs would see him emerge on top in the FP2 session.
Canepa would still run the BMW rider close though in second place, with his team-mate Eddi La Marra following up in third position.
Behind them, Lorenzo Savadori headed up the Kawasaki charge in fourth position, ahead of Ondrej Jezek, the Czech rider having his most convincing weekend of the season so far aboard the SK Energy Ducati Panigale.
Rounding out the top ten, Leandro Mercado, Greg Gildenhuys, Romain Lanusse, Matthieu Lussiana and Marco Bussolotti assumed positions sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth respectively.
