New man for Wiechers Sport

Wiechers Sport has confirmed that driver Olivier Tielemans will miss the fourth round of the World Touring Car Championship in Pau this weekend.

The former N.Technology man, who currently lies equal second alongside Pierre-Yves Corthals in the Independents' Trophy standings, has been forced to miss the French event for health issues and will be replaced at the wheel of the team's BMW 320si by Laurent Cazenave.

The 33-year-old Frenchman, who will be making his debut in the WTCC, has previously competed in the French Super Production Championship and the FFSA GT Championship – winning races in the latter.

"Tielemans cannot race in Pau because he is recovering from a minor health problem," team manager Dominik Greiner said. "Luckily we had the opportunity to make an agreement with Cazenave in such a short time.

“We are happy with this, because we believe that the team will benefit a lot from his experience of the track."
