The new Volvo C30 is to make its debut in the World Touring Car Championship in the next round of the campaign at Brands Hatch.
Volvo Olsbergs Green Racing – run by the same Polestar outfit that contested the Anderstorp round last year with a Volvo S60 – will enter a single bio-fuelled C30 in the British rounds of the season with Robert Dahlgren at the wheel.
With the car having been created to national homologation regulations to contest the Swedish Touring Car Championship, Dahlgren will not be eligible to score championship points, as was the case when he took part in his home race last year.
Dahlgren has scored three pole positions with the car in the STCC so far this season and lies eleventh in the championship standings.
The Brands Hatch weekend is set to be the first of two WTCC outings for the team, with regular team-mate Tommy Rustad set to join Dahlgren in a two-car team at Monza.
