British trio set to do battle at Brands

British trio Andy Priaulx, James Thompson and Rob Huff will all aim to shine this weekend as the World Touring Car Championship heads to Brands Hatch for the latest rounds of the season.

Defending champion Priaulx heads to Brands looking to repeat his win from twelve months ago as he seeks to close the gap to points leader Gabriele Tarquini, with Priaulx currently 15 points behind the Italian in the standings.

"My aim is just to enjoy myself," the BMW Team UK man said. "Brands Hatch is an awesome track, and while I'd obviously like to win that is just not the way things are going for me at the moment. So I'm going to do the best job I possibly can, and push as hard as I can to keep the title fight alive."

Priaulx is just one position ahead of Huff in the standings, with the Chevrolet man chasing his first win on home soil.

"Brands Hatch is the best race of the year for me, as I have so many friends and family down to watch," he said. "That gives a little bit of extra motivation, so if we could be somewhere in the top five, that would be great."

N.Technology's Thompson is the third driver racing on home soul and will look to bounce back from missing both races in Portugal last time out to try and secure his first podium of the year with the new Honda Accord.

"It's actually really hard for me to predict anything," he said. "I love the circuit and I've been on the podium there for the last few years, but because we missed out on track time in Portugal it's hard to know where we are. I'll certainly be aiming for another podium."
