Wiechers-Sport are to miss the latest round of the World Touring Car Championship this weekend at Brands Hatch after running into sponsorship issues.
The privateer squad will be missing from the grid for the first time since the 2005 campaign after the main sponsor of driver Olivier Tielemans defaulted on making a required payment.
Until Wednesday evening the team had worked hard with the former N.Technology driver to try and reach a solution to the problem, with Tielemans' BMW 320si and all the required parts loaded into the truck and waiting for the go-ahead to make the trip to Britain.
However, with no money forthcoming, there was little option left but to pull out of the race weekend.
The team is now focused on putting together a package to return to the grid for its home race at Oschersleben at the end of August.
