Couto enjoys first Honda test

Andre Couto has enjoyed his first test in the N.Technology Honda Accord he will use for the final rounds of the World Touring Car Championship in Macau next month.

The Macanese driver will rejoin the Italian team for his home event for the second year in a row, but will hope for more luck than in 2007 when an accident at the wheel of his Alfa Romeo during qualifying ruled him out of the remainder of the weekend.

With N.Technology have hired the Okayama circuit on Monday morning following the penultimate race weekend of the season, Couto was able to spend an hour on track getting used to the Accord.

"The car is quite different from the Alfa Romeo 156 I drove last year," he said. "However, I feel quite comfortable with the team and I believe that with their help I can manage to get in tune with the Honda.

"I was very impressed by Thompson's performance in Okayama; this proved that the car has a great potential and I am confident that it will be extremely competitive in Macau."
