Huff eager to make amends on home soil

Rob Huff says he is keen to make amends for the disappointment of last season as the Chevrolet heads to Brands Hatch for his home round of the World Touring Car Championship season.

The Briton looked good for a possible victory last year until he suffered a puncture late on while leading and will now be keen to secure a win on home soil as he seeks to maintain his position as the leading British driver in the championship standings.

“I am obviously excited to be at Brands Hatch, my home event, and eager to mend what happened last year, when I lost the race lead on the penultimate lap because of a punctured tyre,” he said. “There will be a lot of friends and fans, including 300 of my own guests, so I expect an electric atmosphere!

“Although we have never tested with the Cruze at Brands, I think the car will be strong there and that we can aim at some good results for team.”

On home soil for the RML-run outfit, team-mate Nicola Larini will also look to shine and he too said he was confident of a strong performance.

“This time, we play at RML's home and I am pretty confident that the Cruze will be competitive,” he said. “I think all the conditions are there to have a good weekend, even if it rains, which at Brands Hatch it is almost sure, at some point or another! The key, once again, will be having good qualifying results and being able to be as high as possible on the grid.”
