Rob Huff has warmed up for his home round of FIA World Touring Car Championship this weekend by qualifying a 1973 MG Roadster on pole and winning the Moss-Europe BCV8 Championship race during the MG Live event at Silverstone.

The Chevrolet driver races the MG whenever his WTCC commitments allow and showed his class at one of the largest MG festivals of the year by qualifying the 36-year old machine on pole and dominating the race around Silverstone's International Circuit.

“It was great fun to go out and play in the old MG,” he said. “I didn't expect to win, not against a lot of more power V8s, but it stayed dry and I was pleased to put it on pole and win.

“It's back to more serious business now – and if I could go out and do the same with Chevrolet at Brands Hatch this weekend, I'll be more than happy!”

The first race of the weekend at Brands Hatch will bring up a milestone for Huff as he contests his 125th race as a professional racing driver.
