did it not occur to you that he may just have driven a better lap. i dont tink that they are allowed to alter boost from the proscribed pressure. if it was as easy as turning up the pressure, then why did all the other diesels not do likewise?

Sorry rich ard. Just being sarcastic. I don't agree to 2Ltr Turbo diesels going up against 2Ltr Petrol, especially after the way Seat manipulated the rules!

swb, glad to see someone reads threads othe than f1! personally i have nothing against diesels. anything that improves the motor vehicle is welcome. the problem here is that irrespective of motive power, there is always a difference between types of car etc. take bmw, it took a number of years to try and balance out their advantage of rear wheel drive. in fact, on some tracks, they still have a considerable advantage. the diesels are not always "all conquering". if bmw come in with a diesel next year,as mooted, will everyone be complaining about their double advantage??
