I feel that the safety car driver and race director should be fined and fired that was abysmal way the safety car situation was handled or should I say not handled

I wonder if the safety car crash will end up on you been framed. That was the funniest racing car crash i have ever seen. If Franz Engstler sends in his onboard footage then he will win £250. WTCC is a joke the BTCC is a lot better.

I have just witnessed the most apalling clerk/race director/pace car driver incident ever seen.
Officialdom is only too ready to inflict fines and reprimands to competitors,:thousands of pounds worth of unneccessary damage,a major risk of injury, all caused by incompetence by officials and their assistants together with complete novice pace car positioning by the driver.
Fire them, fine them, and as they are FIA people lock them in a dungeon with Max for a bloody goode wipping.

While I'm also perplexed as to why the safety car pulled out when and as much as it did...

I really don't buy into Franz's "you have to go through turn 1 flat out"... the timing line is far enough back to brake before the turn especially since he saw the safety car board....

That was one of the most bizarre accidents I have ever seen and Franz Engstler should be compensated in some way, because he was taken out of a race he was leading due to the appaling incompetence of the race direction/the safety car driver. The least the FIA could do would be to pay for the repairs, as he is an Independent Driver who probably has only one car to run the whole season with.

Go to Youtube - type in Pau WTCC 2009 and you will see all. The way the safety car exited the pits reminded me of the way UK drivers join motorways - without any forethought.

dear friends
i work for many years in races, like wtcc for example,i was not on these race and do not mather for these theme what i do in f1 or wtcc and some others races.
I agree thath the driver of the SC was not careful entery the track...thath is a fact and i agree! but one question. how is possible a driver crash into to SC when he pass 3 posts os marshals with flags and SC board?
the board and flags WAS THERE! anyone now whats the regulation of FIA when a professional driver like him saw a SC proceeder...?
i think that was a mistake, of both..happy for not anyone injury..but 50 50 of blame..dont blame 100 the marshal...be on PS3 or XBOX is not be in loco on a track...

The first turn is right ahead of the start/finish line, where the "Safety Car" cardboard was being displayed. So Engstler lifted off the throttle, but, as he explained right after the collision to the Eurosport reporter, he could not slow down immediately because he would be risking a spin.

The blame must fall entirely on the safety car driver. There is no excuse to go all the way to the left as suddenly, especially as it a tricky pitlane exit (which he should know). The cardboards were being displayed, everyone knew it would be entering, there was no need to go right in front of cars that would quite obviously not had enough time to completely slow down. The safety car should have
