Carlton Kirby is the bane of any sane-thinking motorsport fan's existence.

Very well done Andy. Can someone tell me who on earth the commentator was and perhaps either what language he was speaking or which planet he comes from!

For UK i think it was the regular commentator with some wierd Scottish sounding bloke, both getting things very wrong at times.

Team orders should be banned Andy could have easily won that race and if it had been the other way round Farfus would have had Andy off anyway.

It wasn't the usual commentators in the UK. Carlton Kirby was the one doing most of the speaking. He's commentated on the GP and WSBK before, and seems to get countless things wrong during the broadcast.

If we are talking about Eurosports British coverage then the main commentator today was not the usual guy.The Scottish 'expert' was I think Peter Dumbreck who to the best of my knowledge has never been a touring car driver? I do agree with Smoking Jo however about the mangling of the English language, surely they do not pay this man for such drivel?

Peter Dumbreck has done a lot of stuff out in the Japan F3/Super GT classes and stuff...

I think, he was also the unlucky CLK-GTR driver to end up in the trees at Le Man 10/11 years ago...

To get a so called 'expert' with no real knowledge of the particular branch of the sport eg:touring cars, is as daft as employing a Rugby League commentator to cover Union games.Surely Eurosport could have found someone who knew of the drivers and cars and the state of the championship? As for putting Kirby in front of the mike,my heart sank as soon as he uttered his first words.Eurosport must know of the feelings of motorsport fans towards his efforts,is there really nobody else they could employ?

WTCC is usual covered on Eurosport by Martin Haven (who is excellent) in conjunction with John Clelland and formerly with David Leslie before his tragic death.

Martin is a freelancer so presumably for once was otherwise occupied.

To go onto the main subject, excellent days racing for Andy, it's very likely he could have won race 2 as well but he played the team game and if it keeps a petrol car in with a shout of keeping the title away from those bl00dy diesels, then good on him!

trebor, dtm is a fantastic series, which uses powerful engines in shilouette bodies. ok, there is a bit of argy bargy and the team tactics employed, particularily by merc, leave a sour taste in the mouth, but i only wish that f1 was more like that. wtcc is also normally exciting, ut again the team tactics are a bit off. bmw and seat the main offenders, and priaulx is certainly not blameless for knocking other drivers off, but he is quite subtle about it.
