wow aewsome!!! these guys race for excitement and how much more exciting can you get than that! It looked like an amazing ride I can't imagine the sensations that he felt!!! It probaly toped the sensations felt by astronauts and F1 drivers. Thank god that nobody was hurt though, nobody likes to see deaths in motorsport :)

Jesus, thank god nobody was hurt. It highlights the fact that despite huge improvements in safety, there will always be a strong element of danger in motorsport. All you can do is hope and pray that, when things like this do happen, everybody remains safe and unhurt. Thankfully, that happened this time.

The safer the sport is made, the more liberties the drivers take. The guy who was trying to overtake on the grass and also seemed to shove the unlucky driver off.... he should be up on charges of attempted ABH or worse.
There was alot more respect among racers back in the day, better racing too (are you watching Alan Gow?)

Totally agree with Graham Edwards. Yes I go back to the 60s when drivers raced hard but there were standards as to when you backed offin a challenge etc. OK part of this would be because wrecking your car cost you or your team money - not the sponsor- and it would be more likely to hurt in a shunt. Then came the likes Harvey and co - plus roll cages etc - so we have the bully boy / dont back out attitude now.
Thanks Clelland Harvey Neal et al.

Very lucky !

Reminds me of a crash at Donington years ago.
Two single seaters touched down the straight and one went to the right with the front end on top of the armco. There was someone behind the armco that got hit by the wheel and was ok but the car then disintegrated with the complete engine flying through the air. There was some guy running towards the underpass and unfortunately if he had stood his ground he would have been ok. The engine landed on top of him and he was crushed to death.

It made me think of the crash when these marshals were running away from the debris.

I might be wrong, but wasnt this a seat eurocup race, not a wtcc?....its been published as a eurocup race ind 5 or 6 other sources...if this is the case, has crash reporting scored another 'own goal'

Thank God no body was hurt, but I have to say that Francisco Carvalho deserves thi. He was pushed by another portuguese driver, but this is what he - Carvalho - most like to do with the others. I just hope he learnt a lesson. Good races for him and all the racers.
