Well this is a surprise! I'm wondering what's really behind this. That could well be freeing up a date at Brands for another bike round...finger's x'd it's WSB.
I really hope Donny has a good year next year, it deserves it after the Gillet saga

Glad to see Donny back as a track for the main British Championships. Great track and the start of a recovery proccess after the F1 disaster. Think they are using the shortened circuit now not sure if there are plans to get the Melbourne Loop back as part of the track but it's still a great layout.
Can't see Brands getting WSBK back i'm afraid.

Odd move. The WTCC is really struggling at the moment and can't see it being better next year. Pretty sure BMW will be out by then too. They don't get much of a crowd anywhere, even Brands, and I bet it's not cheap to stage either. I can understand Donny need to put themselves back on the map by holding big meetings though and wish them well.

Hey Crash, don't forget the 1995 round of the International Touring Car series that Donington held.

The ITC has quite a few similarities to the WTCC, in that it grew from a national championship (DTM). Why don't these series have the same level of sucess as the national series? Is it just too expensive for the manufacturers to support?

I'm glad to see Donington getting another good race, but not at the expense of Brands. I hope other series don't start making the same excuses about Brands' paddock.

A mistake IMO, I always look forward to the race in Brands. Highly entertaining esp on the run from the straight through paddock to druids. Donnington is okay but not as entertaining as Brands.

Good, Brands provides dull Touring Car racing. Just look at the BTCC finals this year, a normally action packed series was rubbish. It barely has any passing places.

You must have a short memory - the BTCC finale in 2009 on the GP circuit was one of the best events of all time. The WTCC racing is normally pretty good too.

Interesting that lack of space for manufacturer hospitality is cited as the reason for switching from Brands. Chevrolet must be taking up the whole paddock...
