Farfus loses podium

Augusto Farfus has been excluded from the results of the first race in Curitiba following the discovery of a technical infringement.

The Brazilian finished third on the road but was later disqualified when his BMW was found to have breached the technical regulations regarding the 'V' support for the fixation of the engine protection.

His demise promotes Jorg Muller up to third, Andy Priaulx to fourth, Gabriele Tarquini to fifth, Felix Porteiro to sixth, Tom Coronel to seventh and Olivier Tielemans to eighth. It is a particularly significant result for sophomore racer Tielemans as it signals his first ever WTCC point.

Meanwhile, the change in the results means Gabriele Tarquini moves into the joint lead of the championship with team-mate Yvan Muller, while Priaulx is a point further back.
