Defending champion Andy Priaulx and Independents' Trophy runner Franz Engstler have both been hit with suspended ten place grid penalties ahead of the latest rounds of the World Touring Car Championship.

Priaulx was given his penalty following a coming together with fellow BMW works driver Augusto Farfus during the opening race of the weekend in Valencia, with the penalty having been suspended for the events at Pau this weekend and Brno next month.

Engstler meanwhile was given a penalty that will be suspended for three events - Pau, Brno and Estoril in July - following an incident that saw Wiechers Sport driver Olivier Tielemans go off in race two.

Should either driver be found guilty of an indiscretion during the events in question, the ten place grid penalty will be implemented.
