Proteam reveals D`Aste replacement.

Proteam Motorsport has announced the replacement for Stefano D'Aste for the final rounds of the World Touring Car Championship later this month at Macau.

D'Aste, currently second in the Independents' Trophy standings, revealed that he will not take part in the event in the Chinese enclave in protest at a penalty handed down following the penultimate meeting of the campaign in Japan.

Then, the Italian was given a five place grid penalty for an incident with Tiago Monteiro with D'Aste's BMW making contact with the Portuguese drivers SEAT at the hairpin at the end of the back straight while fighting for third place.

While D'Aste was penalised on the spot after being forced to retire from the race, thereby losing ground in the title race, the five place grid penalty angered the Italian to such an extent that he decided to not go to Macau, stating that the penalty had removed any chance he had of fighting team-mate Sergio Hernandez for the crown.

With D'Aste vacating the seat, the team has now revealed that George Tanev will come in alongside Hernandez for the weekend.

Tanev took part in the races at Oschersleben, Imola and Monza at the wheel of a BMW 320si run by the Petrol GT Racing Team and lies eleventh in the Independents' Trophy standings.
