SEAT Sport has begun the defence of its World Touring Car Championship crown by getting back on track during testing at Valencia.

Sporting an unchanged driver line-up of Yvan Muller, Gabriele Tarquini, Rickard Rydell, Jordi Gene and Tiago Monteiro, SEAT worked on developing the Leon TDI, albeit with 2009 specifications.

Each of the drivers, except for Monteiro, took turns driving the car over the course of the test, although SEAT Sport director Jaime Puig insists it is currently their intention to ensure reliability before speed.

"We have worked on the general set up, with the aim of adapting our cars to the new regulations adopted for the 2009 season. Currently one of our main objectives is to ensure the car's maximum reliability."
