Proteam Motorsport has announced that it will expand to three cars for the next round of the World Touring Car Championship on the streets of Marrakech.

The team, which has run ex-BMW works driver Felix Porteiro alongside Bulgarian George Tanev so far this year, will add a car for 32-year-old Italian Vito Postiglione for first ever WTCC on African soil, with team boss Valmiro Presenzini confident he would be a strong addition to the team.

"We add a quality driver to an already strong team," he said. "I believe that with the addition of Postiglione, our team is getting even stronger. We will provide all three drivers with the best materials in order to offer them the opportunity to shine."

Postiglione comes into the team having won a number of races in the Italian and European Renault Clio trophies, while he also boasts success in the Vallelunga 6 Hours and the Ferrari Challenge World Final.

As well as the Moroccan race, Postiglione also plans to take part in a number of the European races later in the year.

"This is an opportunity I was waiting for since long time and I wish to thank Valmiro for supporting me," he said. "The programme so far includes some of the European events, then we will evaluate my position in the championship and decide what to do."
