Maximum weight for Chevrolet at Pau

8 May 2009

Chevrolet will be forced to run with maximum compensation weight for the World Touring Car Championship race weekend at Pau following the double win enjoyed last time out in Morocco.

Rob Huff and Nicola Larini both took victory on the streets of Marrakech to secure the first wins for the new Cruze, which had benefitted from technical help from the Touring Car Bureau ahead of the weekend.

However, that double win will now see the Cruze hit with 40 kilos of extra ballast for the Pau event, taking it to the same weight as the SEAT Leon TDi and the BMW 320si.

The compensation weight had been determined by taking the lap times from the three events in Brazil, Mexico and Morocco.

All other cars, including Alex Zanardi's BMW – fitted with a sequential gearbox – will have 20 kilos reduced from their minimum weight.
